Conflict because of marks
Last Monday a serious dispute between two students of the tenth grade took place during one of the morning breaks at João da Silva Correia School.
The fight began after an argument about marks. One of them believed he had been badly classified and considered himself better student than the other one. According to a witness, it looked like a boxing combat. They were really furious. Only the director (with the help of an English teacher) managed to separate them.
He decided to suspend both students for a week. Since school is not an arena but a place of respect and work, his decision is the most correct he could have. The worst thing that can happen to students is to be suspended, but it is better than injuring someone and be sent to prison.
